The best cosmetic products for acne: Cleansing

To revolutionize your skincare routine, you have to start with cleansing .

There is no one right cleanser for all types of acne, our advice is always to take our quiz and receive personalized advice for your skin.

To generalise, however, we can say that if your acne is predominantly comedonal, with NON-inflamed whiteheads and blackheads , then you can use cleansing products with a greater exfoliating effect – for example, you could opt for double cleansing .

Double cleansing involves cleansing your face with an oil-based cleanser (which, if you have acne-prone skin, must be gentle and non-comedogenic) to dissolve sebum by affinity, and then using a foaming cleanser to dissolve impurities by contrast. You can do it in the morning and also in the evening to remove makeup.

Be careful not to use overly harsh products, though. When you change cleansers, always ask yourself: Is your skin tight? Is it cracked? Is it inflamed? If the answer is yes, it means the cleanser is too harsh for you.

If you want to try double cleansing, we recommend trying the oily detergent of Goovi and the foaming cleanser by Antos . Even though both have very clean INCI and do not contain substances contraindicated for acne, always remember to listen to your skin: after a week of using them, does your skin thank you or feel tight?

If you have inflamed skin with papules, pustules, cysts or red nodules, your best friend is called cleansing milk . Our favorite is the one from Fantastic , But if you want to spend a little less, we recommend the one from Believa . Both are very gentle and respectful of acne-prone skin.

You can use cleansing milk as often as you feel the need, but at a minimum you should use it in these situations:

1) Upon waking up before applying your morning cream

2) BEFORE getting into the shower

3) After doing physical activity or after sweating

4) To remove your makeup (with or without cotton pads)

5) Before applying your night cream

Spread the cleansing milk all over your face for at least 60 seconds, massaging it, caressing yourself and touching your skin in whatever way makes you feel relieved.

After cleansing your face, either with a double cleanser or with cleansing milk, gently pat it dry with a microfiber cloth, which will remove any makeup and sebum residue left on the skin. Get a pack that contains more than one, because it's important to replace and clean it every three days. After several months and washes, when the cloth loses its velvety feel and becomes rougher, throw it away and replace it. We recommend the nine-pack from Comfour .
